Is My Contractor Licensed?
Verify any contractor in any US state. We route you to the official state licensing board search page so you can confirm the license is real, active, and in the correct trade.
Why verifying a contractor license matters
Unlicensed contractors are responsible for a large share of construction fraud complaints. A valid, active license means the contractor has met your state's experience, exam, and bonding requirements, and can legally pull permits for your project.
Not all states issue a state-level general contractor license. In Texas, New York, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and several others, GC licensing is handled at the city or county level. For those states we link you to the nearest official resource.
